NICE SURPRISE…

What can I say?  I’m certainly not going to be negative about a 3-game Winning Streak, and some timely hitting and solid pitching.  Hey, they’re showing some speed and hustle now, too.  What a difference over just a few games…

Brandon Phillips is guaranteeing success this year – I really hope he’s right, and I will GLADLY praise and support the Reds.  Still, it takes WINS, and that’s only fair since we’ve been through such a long, dry spell.

Still, Gonzalez has yet to get a hit, and I didn’t care for the almost “it will come – no sweat” attitude he has taken towards it.  The backup shortstop has hits in his games – let him play, and let Gonzo sit.  No sweat to me…

Volquez, one of the Reds pitchers, is really struggling.  Look at this, from Reds website, by Mark Sheldon / MLB.com: “This spring, Volquez pitched for the Dominican Republic during the World Baseball Classic. Baker thinks that might have put his pitcher behind for the regular season. Between the Classic and camp, Volquez pitched 25 2/3 innings in the spring.”  Another reason for me to have No Respect for, in my opinion, the useless WBC.

Well, gotta go.  Good job, and continued Good Luck, Reds – Keep up the Winning!
